Like books, entrepreneurs are always judged by their Covers
Raise your hand if youâ € ™ re hearing these bits of wisdom before you must always Dress for Success, you only have one chance to make a first impression, and of course the very popular: you can € ™ t judge a book by its coverage.
Megan graduated from Auburn University with a degree in civil engineering and went to work for the construction company Chevron in the early twenties, until a few years later, with experience with Business Coach lit the fire of entrepreneurship in their own oven. Soon Megan, who hails from the small town of Union Grove, was back Alabama look good business opportunity for her. To make a long story short, Megan acquisition of the BNI franchise for North Alabama at the age of 28 and formally launched his career as an entrepreneur. BNI is a networking organization that serves to bring entrepreneurs from all industries. Never you do watching the suspect for now, but there are a number of things you should know about Megan before continuing: Megan grew up a self-professed Tomboy and started his business after years in the construction industry, so its a standard of dress was khaki pants and button down skirts. She mentions didnâ € ™ t steel-toed boots, so Iâ € ™ ll leave your shoes to your imagination. In his own words, his hair were € œlong, right, and air-dried and € wasnâ € ™ ta big makeup user. So when she started networking features attending and mixing chamber to promote her business, she noticed that she wasnâ ™ € t get warm response from other entrepreneurs she expected.
Finally, Megan has been drawn on the side with a friend well-intentioned who said: â € œGirlfriend if youâ € ™ re gonna be a success, you gotta dress for success.â € Â
OK. Who actually sounded like Oprah in my head, but you get the point. With the help of her friend Megan has experienced extreme makeover began dress and behave like a successful entrepreneur. She cut her hair, donned an outfit more professional, began to lead the way a successful entrepreneur, and immediately saw the difference. â € œIt was like my credibility went one for one hundred miles, â € Megan said. â € œBecause I looked the part of the successful entrepreneur, people started treating me differently. They were all of a sudden to me talk and listen and look at what I had to say. It was amazing! â €
Megan learned a great lesson for all entrepreneurs learn at one time or another, we live in a shallow world where people do judge books â € "and people â € "with their blankets. You are judged by the clothes you wear, how you tell people you stand, how you you behave in a public € "even your handshake. Thata € ™ is just the way it is. Living with him or going out of business.
Now some of you may find it offensive that we live in a world like trial, but consider this if you need to consult a surgeon brain and he came bearing dirt) t-shirt baggy jeans fell below the waistband of his boxer shorts, thongs and worn, how would you have confidence that this person was able to work on your brain? Probably not too
In business and in life people, to judge every day, as you all world judge another. A basis for most of us, our opinions of others on our first impression of them. We take the decision to other Like them or loath them within the first minute and you know as well, if I do, my holy-than-thou peers we do not do business with people we nâ t ™ € similar. First impressions are hard to change, then do everything to make every good first impression.
Just use your common sense. Consider industry youâ € ™ re in and dress and act accordingly. If the dress code standard in your industry is a suit, wear a costume. If your industry dictates khaki pants and work shirt. Wear khaki pants and work shirts. If you show up at a construction site wearing a suit youâ ™ € ll never hear the end of it.
And nothing more than act like a professional. Dressed in a suit of thousand dollars and act like an idiot because lust you an idiot well dressed. Customers must have confidence in you before you even consider your product. Remember that the next you think to be rude to someone or make a spectacle of himself. You never know who is watching.
